Little Brook Stay Healthy Street

Updated October 15, 2021

What's Happening Now?

The Seattle Department of Transportation in partnership with Lake City Collective will be installing a street mural that honors Native American culture and welcomes people to the Little Brook neighborhood. The intersection on NE 140th St and 32nd Ave NE is anticipated to be close Tuesday, October 19, from 7am to 5pm.

Take our survey!

We are asking neighbors how the Little Brook Stay Healthy Street is working for them and what they think of making it permanent. Let us know by taking our survey, available in multiple languages.

About this project

Stay Healthy Streets are an important tool for Seattleites to get outside, travel to grocery stores, pharmacies, and local businesses, and get exercise. They make it possible for people to walk, roll, and bike in the street while staying 6 feet apart during the COVID-19 pandemic. Installed as part of our emergency response to the pandemic in 2020, they also provide an opportunity for you to consider how they might improve your community long-term.

The Little Brook Stay Healthy Street was requested by neighbors. We intalled it in April 2021 as a 3-month pilot. We're extending the pilot through at least November. With the community organization Lake City Collective taking the lead, many neighbors are enjoying the extra space with activities like basketball, gardening, exercise classes, and movie nights. All are welcome to join. See the survey at the top of this page to collect input from neighbors about the Stay Healthy Street and whether it should be made permanent.
