TripleE APPLAUDS SEATTLE CITY LIGHT'S ADVANCE TO COMBATING GLOBAL WARMING

PORTLAND OR, JULY 19, 2001

As the transportation and power sectors generate the most greenhouse gas, the President of the first transportation company to provide Climate Neutral travel extended his congratulations to the first power company to make the same commitment. "Businesses and consumers don't have to wait for the environmental laws to change to confront global warming," says Mitchell Rofsky, President of TripleE, the 21 st Century travel agency. "Seattle City Light's leadership will lead to more consumers and, in turn, more businesses, being aware of just how much each of us contributes to global warming -- and to do something about it. If all businesses did so, as idealistic as this may seem, the need for government regulation would decline."

"If we were located in Seattle, we would joint many others to line up to obtain Climate Neutral electricity -- just as so many recycle their trash. Climate Neutrality is another form of clean-up -- just like recycling," Rofsky continued.

TripleE is working with many organizations (i.e. the Certified Forest Products Council of Portland, the Social Ventures Network of San Francisco) to "take their travel and their annual meetings Climate Neutral."

About the organization:

TripleE, the national travel provider, which offers one of the largest databases of Vacation Homes on the Internet, is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Before the end of the year, it is expected to launch online air, car and lodging reservation services that will track travel associated greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon offsets required to mitigate them. TripleE invests in energy conservation to offset the travel related greenhouse gasses.
For a limited time, TripleE is offering a free annual Travel Cool membership at www.triplee.com . Members currently receive a discount on carbon offsets on travel purchased through TripleE, as well as access to a full service travel agency enhanced through its inventory of more than 60,000 vacation homes and unique accommodations around the world.
