Newsletter Submission Criteria

The Office of Film + Music distributes a biweekly e-newsletter detailing information and news that are of interest to, or have an effect on, Seattle's film and music industries. The public is welcome to submit content for consideration; items will be included at the office's discretion.

What are we looking for?

  • News covering or affecting Seattle's film, music, and interactive industries
  • Unique opportunities
  • Events that are high-impact or far-reaching
  • Screenings, festivals, lectures, discussions that are free and do not require a membership
  • Job listings in the film, music, and interactive industries

Criteria for submissions are as follows:

  • Submission deadline: Tuesday at 5 p.m. for Thursday's newsletter. Information that is received after the deadline may be included in the following newsletter if it is still timely.
  • Submissions should inform the industries about unique opportunities; high-impact, far-reaching or major events; or wide-spread industry news.
  • The newsletter is not a way for you to promote your business.
  • All submissions should include:
    • Title
    • Website Link
    • Photo (We may choose a different photo at our discretion.)

Unfortunately, we are unable to publish every submission due to space considerations, fairness and timing demands. Artwork and logos are used at our discretion. The Film + Music Office makes all final decisions about what content will be included in the newsletter and may edit or change submissions before including them.

Please send submissions or any questions concerning the criteria to filmandmusicoffice@seattle.gov.
