Lander Festival Street November 16, 2009
The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is creating a Festival Street on S Lander Street between 16th Ave S and 17th Ave S. This street will serve as an extension of the plaza north of the Beacon Hill Sound Transit station and provide a space for community festivals and events. Removable bollards will allow the roadway to be closed to motor vehicles during events. This project was requested by the North Beacon Hill Community Council through the Bridging the Gap Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF). NSF is a community-based program that is administered by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) and funded by the “Bridging the Gap” transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
