Large Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF) Projects
The Large NSF funds transportation improvements in the public right-of-way. The Bridging the Gap transportation levy passed by voters in November 2006 includes $4.5 million every three years for the Neighborhood Street Fund Program; this funds the Large Projects which were applied for in 2007, will be designed in 2008 and will be built in 2009.
For the Large NSF projects, the city will invest $6 million for new sidewalks at schools, sidewalk repair, better lighting in business districts and slowing speeders. Each of the projects was proposed by neighborhoods and vetted by a 15-member community advisory group.
