Seniors Training Seniors in Computer Basics
|
 |
|
 |
|
Beginning
classes for seniors to learn computer
basics, e-mail and the Internet in a safe
and fun environment are currently
available. Please check back often;
schedules are subject to change and new
classes and centers are added frequently!
The Seniors Training Seniors program is
brought to you by the Seattle Human
Services Department and the Mayor's
Office for Senior Citizens.
All classes are
taught by seniors and intended for seniors
only. No computer experience
is necessary. The online portion of
student training begins with hands on
exercises to develop basic 'mousing'
skills.
Instructors Needed
If you are over 50 and would enjoy
bringing other
seniors into the "wired world", why
not become one of our trained Volunteer Lead Instructors?
Assistants may be under 50 years old.
If you have good basic
computing and/or teaching skills and would like to
join us, please call Patricia Bell (206)
684-0639, or send an email to patricia.bell@seattle.gov for more information.
Class Information
Participants are required
to attend four days of training as each
class builds on the information from the
prior day's lesson.
Each class is two hours long. Our
instructors and assistants work closely
with students until they feel comfortable
with the computer. Many seniors
enjoy taking the class more than
once. Call the Training Center
closest to you to register. There
may be a nominal charge, please inquire
when calling.
If
you leave a message, please leave your
name, phone number and mention
"Senior Computer Basics Class."
