Health Record Information

The City may collect health information during emergency response, or if you sign up for a City health program or service.

In certain public safety and emergency response situations, we collect biometric data, including fingerprints and health related measurements such as heart rate or blood pressure.

Examples of Health Information

Types of health information the City may collect include, but is not limited to:

  • Medical condition
  • Heart rate
  • Blood pressure
  • Vaccination records

Using Health Information

Health information may be used during an emergency response to ensure public safety or provide necessary medical care. Certain health information may be shared with local partner agencies, such as hospital staff, during emergency or medical response.

Protections for Health Record Information

We abide by legal requirements for managing health record information according to state and federal law. Read more on the Washington State Uniform Health Care Act (RCW 70.02), governing the protection and management of health record information in Washington state.
