    Update from GLAAD's LGBT Latino Media Activist list

    LOGO, the new LGBT network from MTV Networks and Viacom is developing a documentary project about gay and lesbian Latinos and we want to hear your story!

    If you are…

    • Latina/o/Hispanic, gay or lesbian
    • Appear to be younger than 25
    • And are willing to appear on camera
    We want you to tell us what’s going on in your life this coming winter/spring, and how it relates to your identity. For example, are you. . . .

    • Combating discrimination within your community?
    • Coming out to your family?
    • Hoping your family will accept/attend your gay marriage?
    • Preparing for an upcoming event such as a “quinces?"
    • A young professional experiencing discrimination you believe is related to your nationality or sexuality… or both?
    • Involved in a conflicted relationship?
    • Have you been the victim of a hate crime?
    • Do you feel discriminated against by the homophobic health system?
    PLEASE LET US KNOW!

    Be sure to include your name, age, and full contact information in your note (address, phone, e-mail, and best times to reach you). Tell us as much as you can about what your story is and what would happen if our cameras documented your life.

    Queer Asian Women Research - Participants Needed

    Greetings:

    We are Dr. Meifen Wei (Assistant Professor) and Robyn Zakalik Doctoral Student) in the Department of Psychology at Iowa State University. This study involves Asian or South Asian American women who have a concern (e.g., question, struggle, difficulty, etc.) related to their sexual orientation and/or being an Asian American. This is a research study approved by the University Institutional Research Board (IRB #05-601) at Iowa State University. Br>

    We are looking for participants who are 18 years of age or older. You should be an Asian or South Asian American woman who is romantically attracted to other women. You may identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, or questioning OR you may be attracted to women but feel that none of these identifications represent you.

    If you feel that you are appropriate for this study based on the above description, please consider participation. Monetary compensation will be made available to compensate you for the time and effort necessary to participate in this study.
