About our department

The Seattle Police Department is the largest municipal law enforcement agency in Washington state and a key part of the city's public safety system both as first responders and as partners with other departments and agencies. 

Our patrol division is divided into five neighborhoods precincts: North, South, East, West, and Southwest. Specialty units include traffic, harbor patrol, mounted patrol, major crimes, crisis response, SWAT, arson and bombs, K9, collaborative community policing, forensics, training, and community response.
