- Law enforcement is truly a career. After five years in patrol, you can move around the department into a wide variety of detective and specialty units until you retire. It never gets boring!
- There are no specific height and weight requirements or age limitations (although you must be 20.5 years of age to join.) You just need the ability to do the job. Many people join as a second or third career.
- While officers work specific watches, many detectives have regular 9-5 hours. Once you have been on patrol at least three years, we also offer temporary part-time schedules (up to one year) to accommodate caretaking needs.
