About

Loyal Heights Community Center is in the heart of the Loyal Heights neighborhood in northwest Seattle. Loyal Heights has a large green space and a small play area on the main part of the campus. Below the center to the south is a lighted synthetic athletic field that is used for baseball, football, lacrosse, soccer, flag football and large special events. Loyal Heights is near two elementary schools and one middle school.

The center was designed and built in 1950 with funding from a voter-approved bond issue. This architecturally distinct brick building features a gym with a stage at one end, a large fitness room, three preschool rooms, as well as locker rooms, and storage and equipment rooms. Upstairs are two large social rooms, a teen room, and kitchen.

Loyal Heights is known for its excellent preschool program and its large home school program. The preschool program has a unique feeder program, the Little Hands Two's program that has two classes that meet twice a week for 2-year-olds. The home school program currently runs 14 classes. Also popular are Lifelong Recreation (senior) programs and many special events hosted by the center throughout the year including a Halloween Carnival, Spring Egg Hunt, and a community Pancake Breakfast (43 years running!).
