Traffic Delay on West Marginal Way SW
SEATTLE—West Marginal Way Southwest is restricted to one lane shared by both north and southbound traffic at South Dakota Street where a truck hit a large power pole earlier today. City Light crews are replacing the pole, expected to continue into the afternoon. Drivers should expect delays and are advised to avoid the area if possible, just south of Southwest Spokane Street. Drivers headed for areas to the south of SW Dakota Street may take the First Avenue South Bridge and approach West Marginal Way SW from the south. Drivers headed for areas north of SW Dakota Street such as the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 5, are advised to use the Spokane Street Bridge.
The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
