New Residential Utility Accounts:
New Requirement. As a result of new federal law, beginning May 1, 2009, the City of Seattle will verify the identity of anyone opening a new residential utility account. Several forms of government-issued photo identification are acceptable and verification can be done via fax, U.S. mail or in person at several locations throughout Seattle.

Accept payments for Seattle City Light and City of Seattle Combined Utility Bills,
parking tickets, and pet licenses.
Validate identification of new utility account customers for Fact Act compliance.
Credit cards accepted for utility bills.
"Magistrate Hearing Location." Magistrates hear minor traffic offenses,
parking violations, and other ordinance violations.
Passport services available.
Bill payment and equipment returns for Broadstripe and Comcast cable companies.
Public access to the Internet. Visits limited to one 30 minute session per day.
