Join the National Marrow Registry
Dear Friends,
Next week we will welcome to Seattle a young man named
Patrick Pedraja. He is 11 years old and was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic
leukemia in 2006. Patrick is the son of a Florida police officer and he is
on a campaign called “Driving
for Donors,” a cross country trip to add 2007 new donors to the National
Marrow Registry in 2007. While Patrick does not need a bone marrow transplant
at this time there is a nationwide shortage of donors and the need is especially
critical for ethnic minority donors.
Please consider joining the National Marrow Registry.
It’s a simple
self-administered cheek swab -- no blood is drawn.
Where: Seattle City Hall
Bertha Knight Landes Room
When: Thursday, June 21, 2007
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For more information, contact Gina Santo Domingo at 684-8339.
I hope you will help make Patrick’s dream come
true and show him that Seattle cares.
Sincerely,
GREG NICKELS
Mayor
