- Gov. Chris Gregoire and the Washington State Department of Commerce today announced the recipients of more than $20 million in grants and loans from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean technology programs throughout the state. - Seattle Times: Stimulus-funded research up to $300 million in state
On Monday, a consortium of Seattle scientists will announce $16 million in federal stimulus grants to figure out whether popular cancer treatments and screening tests really save lives. - October 4, 2009
- The Workforce Development Council of Seattle/King County (WDC), a nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer board appointed by the Seattle Mayor and King County Executive, has submitted a proposal for a $3.6 million Pathways Out of Poverty grant. If funded, the grant would be used to provide training in home weatherization, energy efficient construction and green manufacturing. It would target the unemployed, high school dropouts, people with limited English skills, people who have been previously incarcerated and veterans living in south and southeast Seattle and White Center. - September 29, 2009
- The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) has submitted a proposal for a $3.9 million Energy Training Partnership Grant. If funded, the grant would be used to provide job training and placement in jobs related to making buildings energy efficient, assessing energy efficiency and retrofitting residences. It would target youth, unemployed adults, veterans, incumbent workers and people with employment barriers to open career paths and meet the industry's emerging demand for trained workers. The grant targets job seekers in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Clallam Counties - September 4, 2009
- Seattle Housing Authority receives $10 million for Phase III of its Rainier Vista project. - September 3, 2009
- More than $7 million of recovery funding was awarded to 10 Washington state small shipyards, including four in Seattle:
- Todd Pacific Shipyards Corporation, Inc.: $1,945,981
- Kvichak Marine Industries, Inc.: $1,138,602
- Foss Marine Company (Seattle Yard): $621,761
- Lake Union Drydock Company: $184,217

- Stimulus funding helps local programs. The local FEMA board was awarded a formula grant of $500,000 in stimulus funds to be spent across King County by Oct. 31, 2009. The local board made funding decisions for food and homelessness programs in the last week of May 2009. The board decided to allocate 50 percent of the award for food purchases for food banks and meal programs, 35 percent for rent assistance and 15 percent to expand motel vouchers. - June 1, 2009
