Statement by Mayor Nickels on Council Passage of 2004 Re-balanced Budget

March 29, 2004

"I applaud the Council for their hard work and passage of a re-balance 2004 budget. We jointly identified cuts that preserve funding for those most in need; the homeless, hungry and poor, while keeping faith with the voters who approved new libraries and community centers.

I especially want to thank budget chair Richard McIver and Council president Jan Drago for their leadership and dedication during this process."
