Outages: Planned and Unplanned

Please do not send email to report outages. Call 206.684.3000. Call 206.684.7400 for the Outage Hotline (recorded message). Thank you.

Unplanned Outages

Seattle City Light has a reputation for providing reliable electric service, but some circumstances are beyond our control. Wind storms, snow storms, car accidents involving utility poles, equipment vandalism and excavations of underground lines by citizens or rodents are repaired by our work crews as soon as possible.

If your power does fail, check your fuse box for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. If this is not the cause, please report the outage by calling 206.684.3000 between 7:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. If it is after hours, and it is an emergency (downed wires or poles, vault fires, etc.) please call 206.706.0051. Just looking for information? Call our Power Outage Hotline at 206.684.7400. If your area isn't mentioned, please stay on the line to report it.

In the event of widespread outages, please be patient. High call volumes can cause delays in your call getting through.

Planned Outages

Certain outages are planned to allow our crews to safely maintain, repair or upgrade equipment. When we must disconnect your power we make every effort to provide advance notice by mail, phone or a visit. We appreciate your patience during such inconveniences.
