Work planned on: 100-300 blocks of N 34th St, and W Nickerson St

|
This project includes the installation of three steel power distribution poles (61, 96, and 106 feet in height) and drilled-shaft concrete foundations by contractor Award Construction. Seattle City Light crews will support this project by removing overhead distribution lines prior to the work, and replacing wire following completion of the poles. The purpose of this project is to enhance tower/pole strength of the canal crossing to handle larger conductors for the anticipated customer needs in the Queen Anne, Interbay and Magnolia neighborhoods.
During construction, traffic will be impacted on N. 34th Street and on W. Nickerson Avenue as follows:
N 34th Street: Will be closed to local access only during daylight hours. The area will be cleaned and secured to accommodate the Fremont Market on Sundays.
W Nickerson Ave: At times will be reduced to one lane in each direction except during peak traffic times. A one day weekend or evening closure may be required for the crane-set of the new steel pole.
