Food and Health

Making sure that all Seattle residents have enough to eat and have access to health care are two of the City of Seattle’s biggest challenges and priorities.

The City of Seattle funds:

  • Food programs and services for children, low-income families, the elderly and homeless people. These include meals in the summer for kids, in-home services for homebound seniors, food banks and meal services all across the city.

  • Public health initiatives for underserved populations. These supplement the work of King County, provide funding for a variety of services to improve the health of Seattle residents.
