EducationAccess to early learning opportunities is key to making sure kids enter school ready to learn. The 2004 Families and Education Levy provides funding for disadvantaged kids in southeast and southwest Seattle to receive the high-quality preschool experiences that they might not otherwise have. School-age children benefit as well, participating in a variety of after-school programs and summer school enrichment classes, all of which support school and life success, strengthen social skills, help students gain valuable work experience and prepare them for college. Low-income children and children of color receive high priority for services and programs, which are offered throughout the city by our many nonprofit partners. On this site: |
