NutritionChild Care Nutrition ProgramThe Child Care Nutrition Program is a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-funded program, operated by the Seattle Human Services Department and in existence in Seattle for more than 30 years. The program helps licensed home-based child care providers plan for and provide nourishing meals to more than 3,000 children, infants through age 11, in approximately 180 child care homes in the greater Seattle area. The program contributes to the cost of food and links home providers with a nutritionist to assist with menu planning and special dietary needs of children in their child care. Eligible child care providers must have a current child care license from the Washington State Department of Early Learning.
