Mayor Greg Nickels invites you to explore new volunteer opportunities. In partnership with United Way of King County, the goal is to mobilize 10,000 new volunteers in our city. You can start by clicking here and finding hundreds of opportunities to volunteer.

- 2010 U.S. Senior Open - The 2010 U.S. Senior Open will take place at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, WA from July 26-August 1, 2010. Registration is open for volunteers to assist with the event.
- American Cancer Society
- Beacon Alliance of Neighborhoods - Has the goal of improving the quality of life in northwest Beacon Hill.
- Big Brother Big Sisters of King & Pierce Counties - Community and school-based mentoring opportunities available for caring adults
- Communities in Schools Washington - part of a national Communities In Schools network that addresses the drop out crisis by bringing community resources into local area schools
- Community for Youth - This program inspires and supports high school students to achieve their goals through mentoring, learning experiences and community participation

- Crisis Clinic - the Crisis Clinic offers an array of support services available to anyone in King County
- Delta Society - Focuses on improving human health through service and therapy animals. Opportunities for people to take their pets to visit
hospitalized patients, seniors in nursing homes, hospice patients, children in need, and more.
- Denise Louie Education Center - a multi-cultural, multi-lingual Head Start program that provides early education and family support services to 181 children ages 3-5 and their families.
- Earth Share of Washington - a network of over 60 conservation organizations, coordinating workplace fundraising campaigns, and featuring web site links to new volunteer opportunities for the environment in the Puget Sound region
- Executive Service Corp of Washington - Service corps members are professionals of all ages and backgrounds who provide leadership coaching, consulting, training and meeting design and facilitation to nonprofits and schools. Administrative volunteers are also needed. Projects are well-defined and generally last 4-6 months, requiring 6-10 hours a month.

- InterConnection - InterConnection works to make Internet technology accessible to underserved communities around the world.
- Jubilee Women's Center - a transitional housing program providing women who are homeless or at risk
for becoming homeless a safe and supportive place to live and an opportunity to learn while becoming self-reliant in housing and employment
- Junior League of Seattle - an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers
- Junior Achievement of Washington - a nonprofit organization providing a series of business, economics and life-skills programs to enhance the education of young people.
- Kin On - supports the elderly and adults in the greater Seattle Asian community by offering a comprehensive range of health, social, and educational services sensitive to their cultural, linguistic, and dietary needs
- King Conservation District - provides a variety of programs and services to landowners and residents, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources through responsible stewardship
- Make-a-Wish Foundation of Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho & Washington - grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy
- Northwest Burn Foundation - promotes burn prevention and improves the quality of life for burn survivors and their families, through programs, education, and research.
- Nordic Heritage Museum - Volunteer opportunities at the Nordic Heritage Museum
- Northwest Center - a leader in promoting the rights and independence of people with developmental disabilities
- Outdoors for All Foundation - enriching the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through outdoor recreation
- Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) - shelters homeless animals, rehabilitates injured and orphaned wildlife, and empowers people to demonstrate compassion and respect for animals in their daily lives
- Real Change - Fairness, Opportunity and Community for Low Income People in Seattle
- Seattle Red Cross - The mission of the American Red Cross is to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
- Seattle Community Network
- Seattle Goose Program (send them an email) - This program, which explores humane methods of managing the conflict between geese and people, seeks volunteers.
- Seattle International Rescue Committee - a non-profit organization providing relief, protection, and resettlement services for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict
- Seattle Metaphysical Library - an all-volunteer non-profit organization located in Ballard

- Treehouse - Treehouse has many volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups. We also operate a free store for kids living in foster care and accept both new and
gently used donations.
