Please have your permit number available when you call. Inspection requests called in after 7 a.m. will be put on the list for the next business day. NOTE: Connection problems frequently occur with cell phones, so please make sure your request is complete.

Contacting Your Inspector
If you have issues to discuss prior to your inspection, our inspectors are available by calling (206) 684-8950 on Monday - Friday between 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. You can also contact the inspector in your district through the Building Inspector District Map.

For electrical inspections, you may call your district inspector directly (see district electrical inspector map).

Turnaround Time for Inspections
Our service goal is same-day inspections, yet on rare occasions, this is not possible. Since inspections vary from one to the next, it is not possible for inspectors to give customers specific times for inspections. If you have an unusual scheduling issue or other concern, be sure to contact your inspector the morning of your inspection as they may be able to give you a time-window or make other arrangements that are mutually satisfactory. You can view the status of your permit application or inspection online anytime by using our "Permit Status" tool.

Special Inspection Agencies
