DPD Code Interpretations

The following interpretations, policies or code alternates were originally written to provide guidance to DPD review staff for consistency of review. While they may be used as guidance for design, they are subject to change without notice, and application of these interpretations, policies or code alternates to specific projects may vary. For questions about how any of these code interpretations may apply to your project:

  • If you have submitted a permit application, contact the Building Code plan reviewer assigned to your application
  • If you have not submitted an application, contact DPD Building Code Technical Support at 206-684-4630 or in person at the Applicant Services Center
