A public hearing will also be held at the PLUS committee meeting on July 25. The Council's process involves review and discussion by the PLUS Committee, with an eventual vote by the committee and possible forwarding of the rezone to the full Council for final decision.
The rezone recommendation remains the same as in 2011 except for one minor zone boundary adjustment near 3rd Ave NW at 87th St.
April 2012 Status
DPD completed a second environmental determination and an appeal period in March 2012. See the following document.
December 2011 Status
An environmental impact determination is a required step for rezone proposals. The City conducted an analysis in the first quarter of 2011.
Following DPD’s issuance of an environmental determination in late April 2011, a property owner filed an appeal with the City's Hearing Examiner of the adequacy of that determination. A hearing was held on Sept. 7 and 8, 2011, and the Hearing Examiner provided findings on Oct. 14, 2011.
The Hearing Examiner indicated that DPD needs to provide additional information on the impacts and reissue a determination.
To view the Hearing Examiner’s findings and decision, enter “w-11-003” in the “Hearing Examiner File No.” line on the City Clerk's webpage.
