What is Happening Now
DPD staff are assembling and analyzing a variety of existing conditions information. Two working groups to provide input to DPD are being formed. The Interbay working group will meet four times between November 2012 and April 2013. The Ballard working group will meet starting in spring 2013.
Staff is available to brief interested organizations about the project.
Project Goals
The City of Seattle Department of Planning and Development (DPD) has initiated a land-use study of an approximately 3-mile corridor along Elliot Avenue W and 15th Avenue NW from Interbay to Ballard. The purpose is to develop a vision for the lands close to this heavily travelled, multi-functional route. It will include proposals for any needed changes to the Comprehensive Plan or the Land Use Code to support the vision. Specific goals, to be finalized with stakeholder input, will address the following:
- Clarify the desired mix and balance of land uses.
- Assess the potential for development that leverages and supports transit investments.
- Identify opportunities for an improved public realm and placemaking.
