Video Visitation

The Court provides video visitation for inmates housed at Yakima County Jail.

Location:
The Seattle Video Visitation Office is located at 611 Sixth Avenue (corner of 6th and Cherry) in downtown Seattle, right next door to the Seattle Justice Center where the Municipal Court is housed. Follow these directions to the Court and walk east to the Video Visitation Office.

New Hours :
Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm (last visit will start at 7:30pm)
Wednesdays from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm (last visit will start at 7:30pm)
Thursdays from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm (last visit will start at 5:00pm)
The visitation office is no longer open on weekends.

Video Visitation Rules:

  • Visitors should have the name and booking ID number for the inmate that they wish to visit.
  • All video calls are timed to automatically end after 45 minutes once the call has been transferred to the inmate visiting booth. This typically allows inmates up to 15 minutes to travel to the booth, with actual visiting time lasting approximately 30 minutes per visit, depending on how quickly the inmate responds to the call.
  • Visitors are restricted to one visit with the same inmate per day. Exceptions to these rules may be requested due to special circumstances, including, but not limited to: the distance the visitor must travel, health problems, or other family emergencies. If approved, visitors should be given one re-connection call that would allow an additional 45 minutes of visiting time.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • In the case of an underage spouse, underage visitors must present proof of marriage to an inmate (e.g. marriage certificate) to visit without an adult.
  • Emancipated minors, with proof of emancipation, may visit without an adult.
  • Number of visitors allowed in the video visitation room may be limited by space allowances.
  • Please note: Some inmates may be unavailable to take a video call at a given time because they are attending treatment programs, medical appointments, etc.

Verification of ID:

  • All visitors will be required to present acceptable proof of ID - no exceptions will be made.
  • Acceptable forms of ID include:
    • Valid driver's license or identification card issued by a state government; military identification card (active duty and retiree); and identification cards issued by any federally recognized tribal government. In order for identification to be considered valid, it must have the person's picture, date of birth, and an active expiration date (if applicable). Licenses that have been hole-punched shall be considered invalid.
