If You Have a Hold On Your Vehicle TabsAccording to State Law1, a citizen may not renew his/her vehicle tabs if there are unpaid parking tickets associated with that vehicle. If you have unpaid tickets, and have a hold on your tabs, you may pay the Court directly, along with any penalties, fees and interest that may have accrued. Please note: if your ticket has been referred to the Court’s collection agency, Alliance One, you must pay Alliance One directly. If you make payment to Alliance One, you must return to the court to obtain a proof of payment (adjudication form). After payment to the court or Alliance One (and you have received your proof of payment form FROM THE COURT), you may then present this proof of payment to the Department of Licensing to renew your vehicle tabs. The Department of Licensing is authorized to charge a $15 surcharge for this renewal. For questions about parking tickets in the City of Seattle, contact the Court using our customer contact form or by telephone at 206-684-5600. To make payment arrangements, contact the Court at the above number, or contact Alliance One directly at 1-800-456-8838. 1 Per the Revised Code of Washington, Section 46.16.216(1).
