Digital & Outdoor Photography Program
Cedar River Watershed Institute>
NEAR NORTH BEND, Wash. Capture the extraordinary images of the natural world through photography. This intermediate course will help you discover more of the many powerful features and advantages digital cameras bring to outdoor photography. This autumn’s class will pick up where the spring’s introduction to digital photography workshop left off. In this workshop we will explore in greater depth the digital darkroom found in your computer. We’ll explore editing once you have captured an image digitally. We’ll look at adjustments that most software allows, cropping for more powerful images, creating black and white images from color files, and archiving your file to ensure future integrity.
The second half of the day will be spent in the field expanding our skills of composition and creating strong images. We’ll look at metering techniques, depth of field, shooting modes, and when and how to judiciously use flash. We’ll bring our images back into the class and offer a critique for those participants who are interested.
Bring your own camera, tripod, memory card, camera manual and field notebook.
Intermediate levels and all camera formats are welcome.
Professional photographer, Eric Kessler will be the instructor.
Participants should bring lunch/drink, dress for cool wet weather, wear sturdy walking shoes, and be prepared for uneven terrain
