Project Description

Seattle City Light crews installed a new electrical duct bank on Stewart Street between Terry and Boren avenues. This new infrastructure will increase electrical reliability for the downtown electrical system.

The duct bank was installed on Stewart Street, between Terry and Boren avenues.

What's Happening Now?

This project was completed in August 2020.

Community Benefits

  • Completion of this work allows City Light to maintain electrical reliability in the downtown core.
  • This work also provides additional capacity for future electrical growth in the downtown core.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Crews trenched along the right three lanes on Stewart Street, between Terry and Boren avenues. One lane was open for traffic heading southwest on Stewart Street.

  • Construction Start: June 20, 2020
  • Duration: Two to four months
  • Daily Work Schedule: Sat/Sun, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. due to King County Metro restrictions
